This application for self build homes followed on from phase 1 which was for conventional housebuilder dwellings. Alongside the site masterplan sat a plot passport, which would guide the self build designs and set the parameters within which they must build. Each plot had a maximum developable area, with required offsets from the boundaries of the plot for differing reasons, such as tree protection or neighbour amenity. Personal experience of self building helped with understanding what information the eventual designers or builders would need and some of the practicalities of the construction stage. (@ UDB)
